My Journey through Breast Cancer

On October 11, 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage II Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) ... or as we like to call it, extreme measures for a nap (EMFN). For a while, this blog will be my cancer journal. Enter at your own risk.

a year in bullet points

2009 in a nutshell:

We found out we were having a girl and named her Josephine Lois.
We painted Josie's room awesome shades of blue and green.
Caleb went on a missions trip to Liberia.
Heidi read Twilight, against her better judgment.
Heidi's grandpa got married.
We had our first baby, and she's perfect, of course.
Caleb's brother and sister-in-law announced they're pregnant ... with a second set of twins.
Heidi turned 34, and we went to Disneyland to celebrate.
Caleb lost his job.
We spent a wonderful summer at home as wards of the state.
We drove to Reno to visit Caleb's 89-year-old grandmother. She thinks Josie is a "keeper."
Caleb hiked over 70 miles of the High Sierra Trail in a week. Heidi was not jealous.
Heidi went back to work part-time.
Caleb turned 34, and we went to Disneyland to celebrate.
Heidi's brother and sister-in-law announced they're pregnant with number 2.
At Heidi's request, Caleb grew a beard. Its awesome.
Our Disneyland passes expired.
We spent Thanksgiving in Sacramento.
Heidi got her hair cut shorter than she'd have liked.
We decided to sell the condo and move in with Heidi's parents.
We bought a new Pathfinder. It's red.
Josephine was dedicated at church.
We had an awesome Christmas with family from everywhere. I got lots of knitting books.
Heidi's a little concerned that Twilight is the only book she remembers reading this year.

And now 2010 is here! And we're moving in with Heidi's parents. Just goes to prove you never can tell what life is going to hold. Despite the many changes and uncertainties ahead, I am excited about the new year.

Happy New Year everyone!

Apparently Twilight made a big enough impression that it is the only book you mentioned reading this year.
