My Journey through Breast Cancer

On October 11, 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage II Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) ... or as we like to call it, extreme measures for a nap (EMFN). For a while, this blog will be my cancer journal. Enter at your own risk.

P.S.

In John 6 Jesus feeds the 5,000, walks on water, and preaches to all those gathered. He talks about some tricky things, which causes some of the disciples to walk away (even though they just saw him feed the masses with a boy's lunch and walk on the water). But I love Peter's response the best, the same Peter who would need Jesus to ask him three times if he loved him:

"But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him. And He was saying, "For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father." As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. So Jesus said to the twelve, "You do not want to go away also, do you?" Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God."

John 6:64-69

Peter is a waverer, like me. The gospels have great stories about his impetuous behavior, and his faltering faith. But deep down, he knows the truth, and when it comes down to it, he can't help but love Jesus back and follow him to the very ends of the earth.
