My Journey through Breast Cancer

On October 11, 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage II Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) ... or as we like to call it, extreme measures for a nap (EMFN). For a while, this blog will be my cancer journal. Enter at your own risk.

Happy 4th of July (admittedly, a little late)

We spent the 4th up in Thousand Oaks with Caleb's family. We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. My SIL, MIL and I even got a break from the kids and got to have lunch out ... and take a trip to JoAnn's for quilt fabric! On the evening of the 4th the whole lot of us headed up to Bethany Baptist, which sits on the top of the hill, where there was quite the festival going on (complete with bounce houses and a water slide!). At 9:00 the Thousand Oaks fireworks dazzled us all. Josephine was a champ through it all, even with two super late nights.

We tried a photo shoot with all the kids in their red, white and blue gear. As you can see, my only child was the only real problem. Its definitely time for a sibling. Look how calm and collected all FOUR of Lucas and Christie's kids are!

This is the best one we got of all five kids with Gma and Gpa. That's Burke, Dominic, Josephine, Rory and Conrad. (Aren't Josie and Rory's dresses so cute?! Those were gifts from Gma. And, we're going to have to teach Rory a proper way to pose.)

Uh oh ... Josie and Gma are starting to lose it!

And, we're done. At least Josie is.

In Josie's defense, she hadn't had her usual naps that day. We are going to have to work on getting all 5 kids happy at one time for the Christmas pix!

Not sure what I was doing in the second picture. Thanks for sharing though!
