My Journey through Breast Cancer

On October 11, 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage II Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) ... or as we like to call it, extreme measures for a nap (EMFN). For a while, this blog will be my cancer journal. Enter at your own risk.

Thanksgiving

Caleb, Josephine and I had a great Thanksgiving weekend up in the Sacramento area. Most importantly, Josie did great on the long drive, both there and back. And she did well sleeping in a strange house and hanging out with a lot of strangers. Next most importantly, the food was as good as it should be, the weather was cool and crisp, very Thanksgiving-like, and it was a lovely time away with family. Here's a few pics ...

Grandma and Grandpa with their grandkids: Conrad, Burke and Josephine ... obviously very cooperative when it comes to picture taking.

Her nickname has become "Bubbles."

We got in one picture before Baby lost it completely. Too close to meal time.

On Friday we had a chance to go visit friends of ours who had their baby, Mia, just 3 weeks after Josie was born. It was so great to see them, and finally get to meet their baby girl!

We're sure Josie and Mia are going to be great friends.

Uncle Garry and Aunt Berta put us all up for the weekend, two of the most hospitable people I've ever stayed with. They also had a ball with Josephine.

Josie really wants to know what Burke is up to ....

And now ... no offense to Thanksgiving of course, but Christmas is coming!! I am so excited for it this year. Lights and trees and ornaments and presents and cider and family ... Its my favorite time of year, and its finally here.
