My Journey through Breast Cancer

On October 11, 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage II Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) ... or as we like to call it, extreme measures for a nap (EMFN). For a while, this blog will be my cancer journal. Enter at your own risk.

let the games begin

Well, surgery has been scheduled. I go in on November 7th for the mastectomy and beginning of reconstruction. I stay in the hospital just one night, provided there are no complications. I come home on Friday. Two weeks later I see the oncologist to get chemotherapy started. I start actual treatments two weeks after that (probably just after Thanksgiving).

I'm actually feeling OK about all this right now. But I'm sure the closer I get to surgery, the more it'll all start to hit me again. For now, I'm enjoying feeling detached.
