My Journey through Breast Cancer

On October 11, 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage II Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) ... or as we like to call it, extreme measures for a nap (EMFN). For a while, this blog will be my cancer journal. Enter at your own risk.

6 months old

On December 6, Josephine reached her six month milestone. I can't hardly believe it! I still remember when she was only 24 hours old. She is such a fun little kid. She's grabbing at everything now, and trying to put it in her mouth of course. We've found the ticklish spots, which are hard to resist because we get the best giggle from them. Though we've started experimenting with rice cereal, she wants nothing to do with it, so solid foods are going to be a challenge I think. But, we'll get there eventually. She has started teething, which causes middle-of-the-night painful wake-ups, and she's in the habit of feeling her gums with her lips and tongue, a funny sight to behold. At her last check up she was 14 pounds, 11 1/2 ounces, exactly at average. We are so proud of our average little girl, growing just like she's supposed to.

Her next milestone is her dedication, happening this Sunday at Friends Community Church at 11:00 a.m. I continue to be overwhelmed and overjoyed as we walk this new path of parenthood. What a blessing Josephine is in our lives.
